"Celebrate Our Second Amendment Rights"

With the Obama administration set to finalize legislation by the end of the month, the battle over gun control is reaching a new intensity. KSFO radio is going to "Celebrate Our Second Amendment" rights Saturday, January 19th in Pacifica , Ca. KSFO's Brian Sussman , Melanie Morgan and Katie Green are rallying with fellow gun owners and 2nd Amendment supporters.

Why:  A pushback against legislative controls on gun ownership has begun. Citizens of California will fight any effort to pass AB 48, sponsored by

(D) Nancy Skinner of Berkeley and national efforts to confiscate or limit firearms.

Assembly Bill 48 aims to restrict the bullets that are ravaging our communities,” Skinner said in a statement. “Tragic but true, it is easier to buy ammo than to buy cold medicine, alcohol or tobacco.

Absolutely untrue, gun supporters say.

"It's ridiculous so much time and effort is spent on gun control. Our mental health system needs re-vamping and not more gun control laws. We need to stop the nuts who are doing the shooting," Morgan said.

"Guns aren't guaranteed in our constitution for sport hunting. They are for self-protection. With so many dangerous criminals on the streets, we can't surrender our safety to some crazy shooters who go after our children," said Sussman.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands of people plan to attend the rally at City Arms in Pacifica .
