Barbara Simpson is a media mainstay in radio, television and newspaper work in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Barbara, "The Babe in the Bunker," is on KSFO Saturdays and Sundays, 4-7 p.m. and on occasional weekdays.

Nationally, Barbara Simpson was weekend host on Coast-to-Coast AM -- The Art Bell Program, as well as doing weekday fill-in for Coast. Simpson also wrote, produced and hosted daily environmental reports for CBS Network Radio.

Simpson was distinguished in television news. She anchored ‘The 10 O'clock News’ on KTVU-Channel 2, Oakland for nine years, winning two Emmys and hosted the original ‘2 at Noon’ KTVU program for two years. As anchor, she launched the evening news at KOFY-TV 20/S.F. and moderated a town hall for KQED TV in S.F. In L.A., Barbara anchored the nightly, MetroNews for KTTV-Channel 11. She also co-hosted/produced weekly investigative news reports and hour long, monthly news specials. For KNXT (now KCBS-TV), she field reported, was a school busing trial specialist and was program host and occasional evening news anchor. For KABC-TV, she guest hosted ‘Good Morning L.A.'

In L.A., Simpson did talk radio for KABC and specialty reports for KFI. In San Francisco, she had talk shows on KCBS and KGO and now, KSFO.

Barbara writes a Monday commentary for worldnetdaily.com - - all her columns are in the wnd.com archive. She’s written political/social commentaries for the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, Contra Costa Times, Los Angeles Daily News, San Diego Union Tribune, Arizona Republic and The Indianapolis News.

Among many honors: the 2007 Golden Microphone-Excellence in Broadcasting Award, Eagle Forum of California; the "Golden Medallion," California State Bar, for TV reports; "TV Woman of the Year,â€Â NoCa, American Women in Radio and Television and Kudo Award for her KSFO program. Barbara has also been honored by the National Commission on Working Women, Peninsula Press Club, Oakland Business and Professional Women and B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation League.

As Public Relations Director for The Cousteau Society, Simpson worked with Captain Jacques Cousteau, coordinating media and a worldwide petition campaign.

She’s handled media for varied initiative campaigns, was News Bureau Director for the award winning "Californians Against Utility Company Abuse" and Media Director for "Californians Against Hidden Taxes." Her company, Blue Shadow Productions, does media consulting for politics, business and the environment.
