The Big Cheese - July 30
This 8 year old Chihuahua is indeed the Big Cheese. When the SFSPCA staff went to meet him, he literally climbed up the gate of the kennel, “Pick Me!” He will make a great family dog, though owing to his diminutive and fragile stature, it would be best for him to be in a home with older children. Don’t let his size fool you, the Big Cheese is quite the ladies man. He’s taken a shine to a few lucky lady dogs in the shelter, but he’s not a huge fan of other male dogs.

Ace - July 23
Take a gamble on falling in love with Ace! Ace is a 1.5 year old Australian Shepard. He's a sensitive guy, which is an Aussie trait. He is also new to urban living, so expect him to be tentative in some situations and maybe nervous around city noise and large groups of people. He will do best in a home with adopters that are attentive to his comfort level in new situations and not overwhelm or force him. He is very smart and will respond well to training using positive methods to boost his confidence and strengthen his bond with his family. An active life style that includes the dog in family activities will be ideal for him.

Pixie is a 4 year old female Pug. She's snuggly and affectionate but too scared to move around much due to the fact that she is blind and is adjusting to the newness of her surroundings. With some tender loving care and slow exposure to her new home, she should develop more confidence. Her adopters should acclimate her to their home in slow steps with limited space (at first) for her to have to navigate, expanding her space as she becomes familiar with her surroundings. She loves to lean, cuddle, sit on your lap, and gets happy with sweet talking.
