School districts are preparing for the power shutoff, with many deciding to preemptively close.

Many of those are in the North Bay, but also include Oakland Unified School District.

UC Berkeley has also canceled classes, but the campus will remain open.

School districts say they will notify parents before closures are put in place.

Here is a list:

Alexander Valley (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Alum Rock Union School District in San Jose (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Bennett Valley Union School District (closed Wednesday)

Cloverdale Unified School District (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District (closed Wednesday)

Geyserville Unified School District (closed Wednesday)

Mark West Union School District (closed Wednesday with a projected closure Thursday)

Merritt College (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Mills College (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Napa Valley Unified School District (closed Wednesday and Thursday)

Oakland Unified School District (Skyline High School only, closed Wednesday)

San Leandro Unified School District (closed Wednesday)

Santa Rosa City Schools (select schools closed on Wednesday)

Santa Rosa Junior College (closed Wednesday)

Solano Community College (closed Wednesday)

Sonoma Valley Unified School District (closed Wednesday through Friday)
