According to his youtube page, “Dr. Jeffrey VanWingen is a practicing family physician in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Jeff saw a need to share COVID-19 safety tips. His son Emmanuel recognized the need to use video and social media to get the word out.”

In the video he provides plenty of tips and tricks on how to grocery shop during the coronavirus pandemic.

To begin with, he states that if you can, “Try not to bring [your groceries] into your house”. But, if you need to he recommends wiping everything down before placing the items in your pantry or refrigerator.

Additionally, while at the store Dr. Jeff reminds you to:

  • wipe down your cart
  • commit to what you are buying
  • don’t shop if you have respiratory symptoms or have been exposes
  • plan what you will buy for two weeks

Dr. Jeff also shows you how to properly remove take out wrappers that other people have potentially touched.

Stay safe, wash your hands and continue to practice social distancing!
