The Oakland A’s are one step closer to moving to Las Vegas.  MLB owners unanimously approved the franchise’s relocation to Nevada on Thursday.  The team now needs to complete other steps like securing funding for a stadium before it can officially become Las Vegas’ fourth major professional sports club.

The franchise’s lease with the Oakland Coliseum currently runs through next season and it’s unclear where they would play before their Las Vegas stadium is expected to open in 2028.  Oakland would be the first MLB team to relocate since the Montreal Expos became the Washington Nationals in 2005.
