California Indian Tribes Oppose Proposed Sports Betting Initiatives

YouTube, @Legal Sports Report.

California’s Indian Tribes are opposing two proposed ballot initiatives to legalize online sports betting. The California Nations Indian Gaming Association, representing fifty-two tribes, have voted to oppose the measures.

Authors had changed the initiatives to increase the percentage of revenue the tribes would receive. The association say they’re still opposing the idea, saying “The proponent of the measures are attempting to divide and conquer tribes by pushing an initiative that attempts to legitimize illicit off-shore operators and putting our governments at risk.” They called for the initiatives to be withdrawn.
