Residents of a Burglary-Plagued Neighborhood are Arming Themselves

Residents of a San Fernando Valley neighborhood that has suffered a rash of armed burglaries are ready to take pre-emptive measures. They say they are fed up, buying guns and looking for private security firms to patrol their streets.  Homeowners say the police department is not doing enough to protect them from what they believe looks like a targeted effort to break into as many homes as possible.  LAPD investigators have said that an organized crime ring is likely behind the burglaries.
