President Trump is setting directives to send more water from California’s Delta region to Southern California residents and San Joaquin Valley and farmers. He instructed the Secretaries of Commerce and the Interior to create a new plan within three months to redirect the water.
His directive, called “Putting People Over Fish,” seeks to reinstate 2019 rules that prioritize water supply, despite concerns about the impact on protected fish species.
