A family-owned jewelry store in Simi Valley is out more than two-million dollars in cash and merchandise after a complicated break in. The break-in happened just before midnight on Sunday. The owners say the thieves cut through the roof of a neighboring candy shop, then cut through a wall to get into their business. The burglars had to cut through concrete and eight inches of a safe in order to empty it. The candy store also had cash stolen from its safe. The thieves were inside the businesses for about three hours but the alarms never went off.
