Supervisors in San Mateo County are beginning steps to remove elected Sheriff Christina Corpus from office. Supervisors voted unanimously Thursday to initiate the removal process. County voters passed Measure A back in March which gives the Board of Supervisors the power to remove Corpus from the position. She’s been under fire for allegedly fostering a culture of intimidation and retaliation while having an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. Corpus has denied all the claims and says she’s the victim of a political attack by an “old boys network” of men who don’t like that she’s sheriff.
