More people are leaving California than moving in. U-Haul reports California is the lowest-ranked state for growth for the fifth consecutive year. Over 51-percent of U-Haul’s one-way trips were people moving out, while just about 49-percent were moving in. Cities most popular for Californians leaving the state include Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Austin.
