New rules for California cardrooms are raising concerns about job losses and economic impact. Starting April 1st, new state rules ban blackjack in California cardrooms and heavily restrict other player-dealer rotation games. Industry leaders, like Club One Casino owner Kyle Kirkland, warn the changes could cut a major source of revenue for counties. He tells the Fresno Bee the new rules could mean less tax money for local services impacting entire communities. With less business, cardrooms may also have to cut jobs, further affecting local economies.
