San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie is calling for major cuts to city spending. Lurie wants to see 100-million dollars in cuts to help balance a massive budget deficit the city is facing. That directive could lead to the elimination of up to five-hundred jobs. Lurie says any layoffs are painful but that the city is going to have to focus on core government services going forward. He also said no department has been spared, but he said he’s committed to keeping the city safe and clean.
