In the race between Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco, the California Republican Party is opting to officially endorse neither. The California Republican Party has decided not to endorse a specific candidate for governor this year. That’s after neither candidate reached the 60 percent threshold to receive an endorsement on Sunday, at the party’s convention in San Diego. California GOP officials are calling it an “amazing candidate problem.” Bianco received 496 votes and Hilton received 442, while 75 other delegates opted to pick “no endorsement.” The candidates needed at least 600 delegates to support them to secure an endorsement from the party.
