A man captured on video forcing his way into a California home and attacking the homeowner has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses. Home security footage shows Jason Nichols wearing a trench coat as he pounds on the front door, destroys the doorbell camera, and repeatedly yells, “Where is your daughter?” before entering the Fairfield residence last Tuesday. According to court documents, Nichols faces one count each of felony assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, making criminal threats with intent to terrorize, and vandalism. Fairfield police said the homeowner’s wife and child were alone inside when the doorbell camera recorded Nichols at the entrance. The homeowner spoke to him through the camera’s app, and the video shows Nichols issuing threats while claiming to be “Harry Dresden,” a wizard from a fictional book series. The homeowner and Nichols both sustained head injuries in an incident after Nichols got inside through a side door.
