The recent arrest of billionaire businessman Stephen Cloobeck is reportedly tied to an ongoing criminal investigation involving a Los Angeles-based model accused of targeting wealthy men. Cloobeck, who previously ran as a candidate for California governor, was arrested Tuesday and later released after posting bail. Authorities say he was wanted on a felony warrant connected to allegations that he tried to dissuade or intimidate a witness or victim involved in a criminal case. The investigation centers on Adva Lavie, a model accused of meeting men online before burglarizing their homes. Earlier this year, in March, a judge ordered Lavie to stand trial on six felony counts. Several media reports have stated that Cloobeck and Lavie were romantically involved. According to the complaint filed against Cloobeck, prosecutors allege he attempted to stop at least two of Lavie’s alleged victims, both identified as witnesses in her criminal case, from cooperating or testifying against her in court proceedings.
