A former California State Parks superintendent is facing felony charges after allegedly placing a hidden camera inside an employee locker room at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Prosecutors say 44-year-old Kevin Pearsall, a Long Beach resident, secretly recorded nude videos of nearly two dozen men in the men’s locker room at the Lifeguard Headquarters between August 2024 and July 2025. Investigators also allege that Pearsall shared some of the images with two other men. The investigation began after a sworn California State Parks officer discovered a USB stick inside the locker room. Authorities say the device contained a concealed camera that was being used to capture the recordings. Pearsall worked for California State Parks for more than three decades, beginning in 1994, and served as superintendent from 2023 until July 2025. He is scheduled to be arraigned in August. If convicted, he could face significant penalties under California law and prison time.
