One person has died and three others remain missing after a boat capsized in the San Francisco Bay. The 49-foot cabin cruiser began taking on water Tuesday afternoon while navigating rough seas between Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. Authorities say 16 people survived the accident, with three of them hospitalized in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Overnight, the U.S. Coast Guard and San Francisco Fire Department conducted an extensive search for the missing passengers using rescue boats, helicopters, thermal imaging equipment, and tide-modeling technology. Fire Chief Dean Crispen said most of the people aboard were family members or close friends who had gathered for a memorial event. Investigators have not determined what caused the vessel to capsize, but officials say there is no indication that a fire or explosion contributed to the incident. The search for the missing passengers remains ongoing as authorities continue investigating the tragedy.
