A family in Hemet says they discovered clear signs that someone had been secretly living underneath their rental home. A couple and their four children have been renting the property for about three months, but they quickly began hearing strange noises, including doors closing and alarms going off. The family eventually removed a board attached to the backyard deck and discovered a large basement or cellar beneath the house. Inside, they found several cleaning products, a tarp, and a tube that appeared to contain drugs. They also discovered a fan plugged into an electrical outlet, suggesting whoever had been staying there had access to the home’s power supply. The woman who lives at the home says she was never informed about the basement or the hidden space when she signed the rental agreement. The family is now concerned about who may have been living beneath them and how long the person had access to the property without their knowledge.
