An LAX security guard is facing federal drug trafficking charges after authorities say he was caught with 24 pounds of fentanyl inside an airport bathroom. The U.S. Department of Justice says Miguel Angel Tuz-Noh and a second Los Angeles County man were both charged in connection with the alleged trafficking operation. Investigators say the two men attempted to exchange the drugs inside a men’s restroom in Terminal 6 last week. Authorities also say the particular restroom has been identified as a location associated with drug trafficking activity. If convicted, both defendants face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum sentence of life behind bars. The investigation remains ongoing as federal authorities work to determine where the fentanyl came from and where it was intended to go. Officials have not released additional details about the alleged exchange or the second suspect’s identity. The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in federal court.
