The average gas price in Los Angeles County is approaching its all-time high. The average price today is up one cent to six dollars and 41 cents per gallon. The record high is six dollars and 49 cents, set on October fifth, 2022. The average price has now increased for 41 consecutive days, climbing more than 75 cents during that period. Prices have risen about 20 cents in just the past week and roughly 70 cents over the past month. The increase has accelerated since the start of the Iran war in late February. Drivers across Los Angeles County are now paying significantly more at the pump, with prices continuing to climb heading into the weekend. The latest increase comes as motorists face higher fuel costs and continued uncertainty in global energy markets. If prices continue rising at the current pace, the county could soon approach or potentially surpass its previous record high.
