King tides are flooding Southern California coastal communities for the fourth straight day. Sunset Beach resident Dianna Olea says she and her neighbors have been at the mercy of the tide all week. Homes, businesses and streets in low-lying communities are covered in several feet of water. Today’s high tide is expected to peak between six and seven feet. In Los Angeles and Ventura counties, a coastal flood advisory has been extended to two p.m. Friday. In Orange County, a more serious coastal flood warning is in place until today at one p.m. It will then be replaced by a coastal flood advisory, which will also last until two p.m. Friday. Huntington Beach has declared a local emergency after flooding damaged more than 100 properties. Pacific Coast Highway is closing down again in the Sunset Beach area due to flooding. It’s expected to reopen at three p.m. today. Experts warn more high tides could be coming around Thanksgiving and Christmas and could be as high as about nine feet.
