A convicted child molester is back in custody after new charges were filed yesterday in Placer County. Republican State Senator Brian Jones says there’s bipartisan support for his bill that would keep convicts like David Allen Funston locked up longer.
Funston was set to be released yesterday because a parole board said he qualified under a state law that allows criminals over 50 to apply for elder parole. He’s now in custody in Placer County where he faces new charges that he kidnapped and molested a child in 1996.
