Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo is urging California Governor Gavin Newsom to reconsider a new fuel policy that he thinks will hurt western states. In Sacramento, Newsom is now under pressure from members of both parties to bail on cap-and-trade regulations set to go into effect in May. Many politicians are worried that major refineries might close if the new rules are put in place. Governor Lombardo is concerned because so much of Nevada’s gasoline comes from those very same California refineries.
