West Hollywood officials are ordering the owner of an abandoned construction site to remove a pack of coyotes that has been living on the property. Construction on the planned 22-unit condominium building was halted in 2024, leaving the site vacant. In recent months, several coyotes have taken up residence there, drawing complaints from nearby residents. Neighbors say they have been disturbed by nightly howling and barking coming from the property. City officials say they have been in contact with a representative for property owner Clarence Tung regarding the issue. West Hollywood is now requiring the owner to hire a licensed wildlife control operator to inspect the site and develop a plan to humanely remove the coyotes. The city says the goal is to protect both residents and the animals while addressing ongoing concerns about noise and safety. Officials have not said how many coyotes are currently living on the property or when the removal will begin.
