The California-based food company says the recall affects products made with fresh peppers that were supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, which previously recalled the jalapeños over potential contamination. The recalled Taylor Farms items include certain salsas and guacamole products that may have been distributed to consumers. The recall comes as Taylor Farms is also dealing with a separate food safety issue involving lettuce linked to an ongoing cyclospora outbreak. Cyclospora is a parasite that can cause intestinal illness, while salmonella is a bacteria that can lead to symptoms including diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators for recalled products and avoid eating anything included in the recall. Anyone who believes they may have become sick after consuming a recalled product should contact a healthcare provider.
