The inaugural Ocean Way Festival has been officially canceled after Hurricane Marie severely eroded the event’s beachfront venue. The two-day music festival was scheduled for September 26–27, 2026, just south of the historic Santa Monica Pier. However, powerful storm surf and coastal runoff from the offshore hurricane compromised the shoreline’s structural integrity. City officials determined the compromised sand could no longer safely support massive crowds or heavy production equipment. Promoter Goldenvoice announced that all ticket holders will automatically receive full refunds within five to seven business days. No action is required from buyers. While fans will miss a stacked lineup featuring The Killers, Jack White, and Olivia Dean, organizers are already pivoting. The city and Goldenvoice confirmed they are actively collaborating on a plan to bring the festival back to Santa Monica in 2027.
