A candidate for San Francisco supervisor is dropping out of the race following new sexual assault allegations against him. Manny Yekutiel ended his campaign for District Eight supervisor Thursday afternoon, after several prominent supporters, including Mayor Daniel Lurie, withdrew their endorsements. The decision came after the San Francisco Standard reported Thursday that Yekutiel is accused of groping two men at a Pride party in 2023. Yekutiel was also accused earlier this year of sexually assaulting a man at a party in 2020. He has denied those allegations. The latest accusations come as Yekutiel’s campaign was already facing scrutiny over the earlier allegation. In a statement announcing his withdrawal, Yekutiel said he believes stepping aside is the right decision for his community and supporters. The District Eight race includes several other candidates seeking the seat, which represents neighborhoods including the Castro, Noe Valley and parts of the Mission. The allegations have not resulted in criminal charges.
