Contra Costa County DA Facing Recall Effort

Another Bay Area district attorney is facing a recall effort. Contra Costa County D.A. Diana Becton was served this week with a recall notice. The group behind the push to oust Becton points to several concerns about her job performance as district attorney, including what the group calls a cycle of unaddressed criminal activity, empty promises to victims, and a lack of transparency. The organizers of the recall now have to submit a petition to recall Becton. If approved, they will then have 160 days to collect roughly 76-thousand signatures to get the recall on the ballot.
