President Trump has signed an executive order that’s aimed at removing homeless people from the streets. The order signed Thursday asks Attorney General Pam Bondi to “reverse judicial precedents” that limit state and local governments’ ability to have individuals on the streets committed if they pose a risk to themselves or others. The order calls for federal funds to move homeless people who are “causing public disorder” and “suffering from serious mental illness or addiction” to treatment centers, assisted outpatient treatment, or other facilities.
