Oakland Ranked Second Most Dangerous City

The city of Oakland finds itself near the top of a list it doesn’t want to be on. A new U.S. and World Report ranking placed Oakland second on its list of the most dangerous cities in America. The ranking comes as police union officials get frustrated over the lack of staffing within the police department. They say Mayor Barbara Lee promised to increase the number of cops in the city but claim that hasn’t happened, and the results are showing, with crime issues around the area. Mayor Lee’s office says they are committed to recruiting more officers.
