President Biden is celebrating his 81st birthday by taking part in a longstanding White House tradition – pardoning the Thanksgiving turkeys.

‘Liberty’ and ‘Bell’ will be pardoned in a ceremony on the White House lawn this afternoon – a presidential tradition that goes back decades.

The turkeys will spend the rest of the week living in luxury at the Willard InterContinental hotel, then live out the rest of their days at the University of Minnesota’s Agricultural College.

It’s also Biden’s birthday – at 81, he is the oldest president in U.S. history.

In another holiday tradition, the Bidens will receive the official White House Christmas tree on Monday.
