California Governor Gavin Newsom tested positive for covid-19 days after returning from a personal trip to Mexico’s Baja California.

Newsom is reportedly experiencing mild symptoms and will isolate for the next five days.

The news comes shortly before Newsom is set to begin a statewide tour from March 16th to 19th, which has not been canceled. According to The Los Angeles Times, Newsom will participate in a virtual news conference with California Attorney General Rob Bonta on Thursday.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to come to California on March 13th, but it is not clear if Biden will meet with Newsom in person.
