There’s a lot of storm damage to clean up across the Bay Area – and most of it is from trees that toppled on roads and crushed cars.   

The winds were so fierce about twenty windows blew out at the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco and glass fell from two other high rises. Inspectors quickly reviewed the towers and decided to close a stretch of Mission Street.

Avoid the Third Street Bridge if you can, it shut down last night after two barges came loose during high winds and hit it. There is no word about the roadbed or the massive concrete counterweight that allows the bridge to open to ships. City engineers are now figuring out what repairs are needed. 

Ferry service in the San Francisco Bay should be back today, but with delays. It was suspended yesterday because of high winds.

Most Amtrak trains are also running again after one hit a tree and derailed in Contra Costa County. Cancelations and delays continue this morning at San Francisco International Airport.
