House Speaker Kevin McCarthy questioned whether Donald Trump is the strongest Republican candidate to take on President Biden in 2024.  

In an interview with CNBC, McCarthy said Trump can beat Biden in the general election, but added that he doesn’t know if Trump is the strongest contender in the Republican field.  

McCarthy stressed that Trump’s policies are better for Americans than Biden’s policies. Trump has consistently polled well ahead of all other Republican candidates.
