A 7-foot mammoth tusk was discovered by geologists in North Dakota.

The well-preserved tusk and about 20 mammoth bones were excavated after they were discovered by coal miners.

Ribs, a shoulder blade, hip bones, and a tooth were among the fragments recovered.

It’s not yet known which type of mammoth the bones are from – a number of mammoth species roamed North Dakota during the Ice Age over 10,000 years ago.
