California Grocery Store Boosts Security

A grocery store in Southern California is tired of retail theft and boosting security in a big way.  One Albertsons in San Diego is now fenced off.

There are two entrance gates, where you can go inside, but you can’t exit from the same spot. Instead, the exit is on the other side of the store where you have to scan a receipt to get out through the gate.

A spokesperson from Albertsons says the changes were made recently to maintain a safe and welcoming shopping experience for customers, given the increasing amount of theft. The updates include operational changes to the front end of the stores to deter shoplifting.
