Ohtani Interpreter May Have Overstated His Qualifications

The interpreter accused of burning through millions of dollars in Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani’s money may have overstated his qualifications.

Ippei Mizuhara’s Major League Baseball bio says he received a degree from UC Riverside. The school disputes whether Mizuhara ever attended the school.  There are also discrepancies about dates and whether Mizuhara was ever the interpreter for another Japanese player for either the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox.

The dates in his bio and the tenure of the player with each team do not line up.
