The House will send the impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate next month.  House Republicans impeached Mayorkas last month for his handling of the U.S.-Mexico border. 

Speaker Mike Johnson will send the articles of impeachment to the upper chamber on April 10th.  The Democratic-controlled Senate isn’t expected to convict Mayorkas, and senators could move to quickly dismiss the impeachment. 

Mayorkas is the first Cabinet secretary to be impeached in almost 150 years.
