Electric Car Crash Leads to Hazmat Cleanup

YouTube, @NBC Bay Area.

A hazmat cleanup is finally over in Petaluma after an electric car crash.  An officer tried to pull the driver over Saturday for speeding on Highway 101, but says he only went faster, topping 100-miles-an-hour.

The man then hit a concrete barrier and rolled, leaving a path of burning batteries as the car flipped into the water.  Some even exploded.  Crews put out the fires but left the car soaking until yesterday to make sure no other batteries reignited.
