A fight is brewing between two Bay Area cities.  San Francisco is against a plan to rename Oakland’s airport to San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. 

San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu who sent a letter to the Port of Oakland Commission yesterday, threatening legal action if it goes through.  He attested the name change could send travelers to the wrong destination, along with the potential for expensive mis-delivery of goods.  But Oakland officials believe adding “San Francisco Bay” will help the city stand out and give a better understanding of how close the Oakland is to San Francisco. 

A meeting is scheduled to consider the proposal.
