A suspected shoplifter is dead and another is seriously injured after running away from a store they allegedly robbed in West Hills.

Los Angeles police say the suspects were hit by a car on Sunday night, just moments after running out of a TJ Maxx with merchandise in hand.

The driver who hit them stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
