Oakland is one step closer to renaming its airport.  The Port of Oakland’s Board of Commissioners voted for the plan but still needs final approval at a meeting on May 9th. 

San Francisco’s city attorney already threatened to sue if it goes through and will give an update in a few days.  He says the name San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport will confuse travelers and could send some to the wrong destination. 

Oakland officials believe it’ll help the city stand out and bring in more travelers.
