LA COVID Debt Deadline

YouTube, @KTLA 5.

The deadline is coming up for tenants in Los Angeles to repay all their past-due rent from earlier in the COVID.  It’s this week and it will mark the end of nearly four years of the city’s rule that kept tenants safe from eviction if they couldn’t keep up with rent payments due to pandemic job loss or illness.

A study from the University of Pennsylvania found that there are up to 93 thousand households in Los Angeles that have delayed rent due later this week.

Theda’s deadline requires households to pay everything they owe from October 2021 and January 2023 or face eviction.
