Road Diets: Oakland Businesses Fear Road Project Will Take Away Parking

YouTube, @KPIX | CBS NEWS BAY AREA.

Several businesses in Oakland are hoping to keep their parking spaces.  The city is considering removing 30 to 40 spots to make Grand Avenue safer.

Officials say the road needs to be repaved from Broadway to MacArthur Boulevard due to all the pedestrian and bicycle accidents but that includes getting rid of dozens of those parking spaces.

Business owners expect to share the results of a parking survey next month to see if OakDOT will revise their plans.
