Another Bay Area recall election is closer to reality.  A group trying to remove Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao from office turned in 40-thousand signatures yesterday.  That’s more than the nearly 27 thousand needed.  Once all the names are checked, the recall petition will go to the city council to decide an election date.  It could end up being on the November ballot, which is when voters will decide whether to recall Alameda County’s DA.
